These Terms of Sale govern the purchase of a paid Ed.ai subscription by a teacher (the "Subscriber") on ed.ai. They supplement the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, which continue to apply. Where they conflict on a matter concerning the subscription, these Terms of Sale prevail.
School and district licenses are governed by separate agreements and are not covered by these Terms of Sale.
The Service is designed for teachers and intended for professional use in their teaching. By subscribing, the Subscriber confirms they are acting in that capacity.
Two plans are available:
Ed.ai Pro 300: 300 graded papers per billing period, $49.90 per month, first month $24.90
Ed.ai Pro 600: 600 graded papers per billing period, $79.90 per month, first month $34.90
Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales tax. Any applicable tax is calculated at checkout from the billing address and shown before payment.
The first-month offer applies to the first billing period of a subscription and is limited to an account's first subscription.
Each plan includes, on top of the free plan: a paper allowance per billing period, priority grading and unlimited reteaching activity generation.
The allowance counts each paper submitted for grading. It applies to the current billing period and does not roll over. Once it is used up, grading of new papers pauses until the next billing period, unless the Subscriber moves to the higher plan. The counter is visible at any time in the Subscriber's profile.
Subscriptions are purchased online from a teacher account in three steps: choose a plan, pay on the secure checkout page of our payment provider Stripe, then confirmation on screen and by email.
The contract is formed when the payment is confirmed. The subscription starts immediately and the Subscriber gets access to the plan's features without delay.
Purchasing a subscription constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Sale, in the version in force at the date of purchase.
The subscription runs for one month from the date of purchase and renews automatically every month until canceled. There is no minimum term.
The Subscriber can cancel at any time from their profile, "Subscription" tab, "Manage billing & invoices" button. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: access continues until then, no further charge is made, and the current period is not refunded, in whole or in part.
At the end of the subscription, the account returns to the free plan under the Terms of Service. The Subscriber's data is retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
The Subscriber may switch plans at any time from the same page. The change applies immediately and the price is prorated for the remainder of the current period.
Payment is made by card through Stripe, our payment service provider. Ed.ai never sees or stores card details.
The price is charged at purchase, then at each monthly renewal. Invoices are available at any time under "Manage billing & invoices" in the profile.
If a charge fails, the Subscriber is notified by email and asked to update their payment method. The charge is retried during that period and access to the plan continues. If payment is not received within thirty days of the first failure, the subscription is canceled and the account returns to the free plan. Ed.ai may suspend access to the plan's features during that period.
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, payments are final and non-refundable, including for a billing period that has already started.
Ed.ai may change the plans and their prices. Changes are notified to the Subscriber by email at least thirty days before they take effect and apply from the first renewal after that date. A Subscriber who does not accept the change may cancel before that renewal, as described in Section 5.
The Service is provided as described in the Terms of Service, which also set out the warranties, disclaimers and limitation of liability that apply to the subscription. Grading is assistive: the Subscriber reviews it and remains responsible for the grades and feedback given to students.
The processing of the Subscriber's data and of the student work they upload is described in the Privacy Policy. Payment data is processed by Stripe under its own privacy policy.
These Terms of Sale are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and disputes are resolved as set out in the Terms of Service. Before any formal claim, please contact finance@ed.ai: we commit to a thirty-day good-faith resolution window.
Ed.ai may update these Terms of Sale. The version in force at the date of purchase or of the latest renewal applies. Material changes are notified to the Subscriber by email before they take effect.
