Ed.ai complies with FERPA and COPPA nationally, and adapts to each state's requirements through an NDPA signed by Ed.ai, using the state's official version in 20 states.
Coverage model
We cover all US states through two layers:
Federal baseline — applies everywhere: FERPA + COPPA + our own commitments (US hosting, no model training on student work, no advertising, human-in-the-loop grading).
NDPA signed by Ed.ai — contractually adapts the federal baseline to a state's requirements wherever a district signs it. In 20 states, we sign the state's official version of the NDPA.

State student privacy law moves fast. We monitor changes in state student privacy and AI law and adapt our practices and contracts as new requirements take effect.
